Parking

There is limited parking at Kew FC and is NOT available at the Ranelagh clubhouse. However, there is plenty of free on street parking near the start.

Race Headquarters

The race HQ is at the Kew FC clubhouse located at the race start, on Riverside Drive. There will be a marshal available

there to assist with general enquiries. Changing facilities, toilets and showers are available. Kit Bags may be left at the race HQ, at your own risk as the changing rooms can’t be locked for child protection. The prize giving will be held at the HQ and refreshments will be available after the race.

Directions

By bus from Richmond. From Richmond take either of the following buses 65 towards Kingston, or 370 also towards Kingston. Both run within 10 minute walk if the HQ.

By bus from Kingston Take Bus 65 towards Ealing Broadway to Petersham Fox & Duck PH. Busses are every 10mins and the journey time is 23 mins. The ground is a 15 minute walk from the bus stop, turn right into Sandy Lane and right into Ham Street and then left into Riverside Drive. The HQ is 200yds on the right hand side.

Your Number and Timing Chip

Your race number will be enclosed together with the chip that will record your finishing times will be sent by post to you. Please attach your number to the front of your vest. Follow the directions on the chip envelope to attach your chip. There are two ties in the envelope. The timing system will record your time from when the gun goes off to the finish and the time from when you cross the start line to the finish. Remember without a chip your finishing times can not be recorded.

The Start

The start is on the grass area at the junction of Riverside Drive and ham Street, 100 yrds from the Race HQ.

The Route

A course map is on the reverse. The course has been measured by a UKA course measurer and is an accurate 10kilometres - RRC CERTIFICATE EA 10/149. The course is an out and back including two laps of a loop. From the start the course runs towards the race HQ, crossing onto the road immediately before it. The two lap loop starts from Riverside Dr where it turns right towards the river before swinging left at Teddington Lock onto the higher riverside path. The course will then run along Lower Ham Rd, Richmond Rd, Dukes Av, Dysart Av, Burnell Av, Beaufort Rd and back onto Riverside Dr. The second lap begins with a left hand turn towards the lock. Each kilometre will be marked. Race Marshalls will be posted at all turns on the route, but please familiarise yourself with the course map. CAUTION: The towpath is narrow. Other members of the public will be using it on the day. Cyclists and pedestrians have as much right to be there as you do. The race is on open public roads and towpath, and you have a duty of care toward your fellow runners and other members of the public. Dangerous or reckless behaviour will result in disqualification. Please do not compete in this race unless you are in good health on the day of the race and compete entirely at your own risk

Drinks Station

Water will be available at the finish.

The Finish Area

The Finish is at the end of Riverside Drive close to the Race HQ. The last 100 metres are on grass. Please keep moving once you have crossed the line, in the order in which you crossed it, and clear the finish area as soon as possible.

All finishers will receive a memento at the finish of the race.

Prizes presentations will be at the race HQ at approximately

11:00 am. Should an individual be eligible for an Open and a

Master’s prize, the greater value prize will be awarded. The

other prize will be offered to the next finisher in either the

Open or Master’s race. Team prizes are unaffected. To

qualify for team prizes, club vests must be worn.

General

Unfortunately the course is unsuitable for wheelchairs or

pushchairs. Blind or partially sighted runners may be

accompanied; otherwise, runners must not be accompanied

or followed by others on cycles. Dogs are not permitted in the

race.

THE ROADS WILL NOT BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

While running you must keep to the left

hand side of the road, run on the pavement

where possible and observe the Highway
